Schurter holds 9 overall UCI World Cup titles, 3 Olympic medals in mountain biking and much more! We are so proud and honored to have Nino with us this year. Our goal: To raise 1 Million Swiss francs for the GO STAR project to support trauma patients in Ethiopia.
Changing the world for the better and doing something meaningful: This desire unites the protagonists of the five-part DOK series "Die Weltverbesserer". The young senior physician Melanie Holzgang and head physician Jörg Peltzer are committed to helping accident victims in Ethiopia. They save many lives with the Gostar project in the emergency surgery centre in Jimma. Photographer Manuel Bauer is ensuring that the inhabitants of the village of Sam Dzong in Mustang, which is threatened by water shortages, have a future. With the help of Swiss donations, he is creating a new home for 85 people. Vanja Crnojević and her organisation Borderfree Association provide emergency aid for refugees on the Balkan route. In Serbia and Greece, they alleviate people's suffering by providing meals, sleeping accommodation and a school.
Dr Melanie Holzgang was one of the "Reversed Fellow" surgeons who led the trauma surgery in the Gostar project in Ethiopia. Melanie was the main protagonist of our project in the Swiss television documentary series "Die Weltverbesser". She was able to master the dramatic medical situation with a great deal of professionalism, commitment and passion and also conveyed this in the programme. The media became aware of her courageous and courageous appearance and shortly afterwards she was invited to be interviewed as a guest on the Aeschbacher programme. It's definitely worth taking a look.
